A legislation was signed by Governor Chris Christie granting the use of $10 million to preserve 58 historic sites in the Garden State. Among those awarded with a grant is the Fosterfields Historical Farm in Morris town.
The farm was originally owned by Jonathan Ogden but later was purchased by Charles Foster in 1881. When his daughter, Caroline, took care of the farm, she built farm buildings and houses which she left to the custody of the Morris County Park Commission when she died in 1979. With the grant, the historical farm museum and barn will have a restored circa 1926 appearance.
