In the olden days, barns were typically built by a few hundred, according to David Flaud, who is an Amish timber framer.
Flaud, as well as about twenty other workers had used a hydraulic crane, on Thursday, in order to lift beams that were about forty feet off of the ground. Then build a roof on a new barn located on Anthony Road, which is in the Washington Township, north of Adams County, East Berlin.
A safer and a much more efficient way to move the beams had been provided by the heavy equipment to the top of the entire structure.
